Belarus & Pakistan Deepen Parliamentary and Economic Ties

Belarus is strengthening its parliamentary collaboration with Pakistan, according to Sergey Rachkov, Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs in the House of Representatives. Speaking with BelTA, Rachkov highlighted the importance Belarus places on this partnership, which has grown significantly since the visit of Pakistan's parliamentary speaker to Belarus earlier this year, as reported by BelTA.
The meeting covered various topics aimed at advancing bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on trade and economic ties. Rachkov noted that Belarus and Pakistan maintain a constructive relationship grounded in nearly 90 international agreements, which span sectors including industrial cooperation and agriculture. He emphasized Belarus’s commitment to supporting government initiatives that deepen economic cooperation between the two nations.
Trade between Belarus and Pakistan has shown steady growth, Rachkov remarked, highlighting that the relationship is further enhanced through active parliamentary engagement. Both countries have established parliamentary friendship groups, fostering direct dialogue and exchange. Belarusian representatives are also participating in the Belarus-Pakistan intergovernmental commission and various thematic working groups to facilitate joint projects in targeted sectors.
This cooperative framework aligns with Belarus’s strategic objectives of diversifying trade partnerships and enhancing economic resilience through robust bilateral agreements.
